Pellet production, except some special preparing methods, normally consists of four processes: nucleating, agglomeration, overlapping, and migration.
Nucleating refers to the process when powder is added into liquid and forms nucleus. The number of nucleus increases as more solid powder and adhesive are added. It is finished mainly thanks to liquid bridging. Next, in agglomeration, nucleus impact on each other randomly and form larger particles. Combination of liquid nucleus facilitate this process because effective impact only occurs on the nucleus with a slight excess water on the surface. Thirdly, overlapping starts when powder is added into the nucleating system and makes it grow. At last, migration occurs when the pellet cores impact on each other and the ingredients transfer from one core to another. As pellet production time extends, migration change becomes smaller gradually.
